Coffee concert (Got Tjark)
Giving talent time to grow is the trademark of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Known for its annual soloist competition, the legendary institute in Waterloo also welcomes chamber music ensembles for multi-year residencies. One of these, Trio Nebelmeer (named after Caspar Friedrich's melancholic painting Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog), plays Schubert's Second Piano Trio on Schiermonnikoog. The timeless, quasi-folk melody of the second movement stays with you for the rest of the day. Toru Takemitsu's Between Tides highlights the constantly changing twilight zone between land and sea.
