Coffee concert (Got Tjark)
If we are to believe the astonished juries of the Conservatoire of Amsterdam, the London Royal Academy of Music and Gramophone, Dutch pianist Aidan Mikdad is a once-in-a-generation talent. Schiergangers may remember him from 2018, when he played Ravel's challenging Gaspard de la Nuit on the island, a performance that earned him this year's Prix de la Musique Française in the prestigious Epinal competition. This morning he will play three monumental sonatas: a Bach partita, Beethoven's personal Les adieux and Chopin's monumental Third Piano Sonata, with its archi-poétique slow movement.
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) Partita No. 1 in B flat major, BWV 825
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) Piano Sonata No. 26 in E flat major, Op. 81a
Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58
