Evening concert De Stag

In the Soviet Union where Nikolaj Kapustin grew up, jazz was a forbidden fruit. Officially, he wrote an enormous body of work consisting of neat classical pieces, but secretly he smuggled in swing and improvisation. His Piano Quintet from 1998 exudes this ambiguity: tight in form, effervescent in spirit. Soviet pretense and smoky nightclub life at the same time. After that, we will throw a party with the jongNBE. For the young musicians, the trip to the Wadden Sea is an annual highlight, just like it is for festival visitors. To celebrate that party, they'll perform a best-of selection of all the great stuff they've played on Schiermonnikoog in recent years... in Reprise!
