Evening concert De Stag
This anniversary edition of the spring festival closes with not one, not two, but three Present concerts. The programme depends entirely on the masterclass participants and therefore remains a surprise. What is known – and how! – is Dvořák's String Sextet from May 1878, composed shortly after the overwhelming success of the Slavonic Dances. In 1879, it was performed in Berlin by violinist and superfan Joseph Joachim at a soirée in honour of the composer. The distinguished audience gave Dvořák's music a warm reception, a memory that stayed with him for a long time. And you could hardly wish for a more beautiful Auf Wiedersehen on Schiermonnikoog!
