A tree as a symbol of hope, viewed from a closed-off world. Anne Frank’s Tree features the Dutch premiere of the work of the same name by composer Victoria Bond, inspired by Anne Frank’s diary.
The Animato Quartet presents this music in a poignant combination of string quartet and narrator, bringing excerpts from the diary to life. The programme also features Mendelssohn’s Sixth String Quartet – music in which his Jewish background lends a deeper layer to the programme.
A concert in which music, history and literature come together – demonstrating just how relevant these stories still are today.
