Deeply impressed by Friedrich Ramm's oboe talents, Mozart, on a visit to Munich, immediately wrote a fresh quartet that showcased the possibilities of the ‘modern’ oboe to perfection. This morning, Belgian Balder Dendievel steps into the shoes of his 18th-century predecessor and also plays Schumann's lilting Romances. Just before lunch, Hawijch Elders astounds with Brahms' third and most dramatic Violin Sonata opus 108. The work eminently demands a perfect balance between the two instruments and thus promises an adventure for the violinist and her piano partner Abel Hox.
