Dutch Discoveries
Tobias Borsboom, a 'master storyteller' according to newspaper NRC, has been showing his great ambitions for a few years now. Behind the piano, but also with his own festival Klassiek achter de Duinen in The Hague, and in his choice of repertoire. This afternoon he serves up four surprises by three snowed-under Dutchmen. Such as Henriëtte Bosmans, in her time a star soloist under conductors such as Mengelberg and Monteux. She wrote her cello works for her Marix Loevensohn and Frieda Belinfante. Or Henk Badings, probably one of the most influential Dutch composers of the 20th century.
