Ensemble for Breakfast (late)
⾊, iro, means in Japanese, among other things, colour, beauty, and personality. Three qualities that the Iro Quartet has been able to fully develop in its short existence. For example, they worked hard on the music of Shostakovich under the guidance of Marc Danel, the members of the Hagen Quartet and Fitzwilliam Quartet founder Alan George. Their concert at Schier, with among other things Beethoven's very first string quartet, follows shortly after a prestigious residency during the Festival de Chaise Dieu. Later in this festival you will also hear the Iro Quartet in music by Hildegard von Bingen, Samuel Barber and Pēteris Vasks.
