The Sound of Talent

Genres? Styles? All fine with Roza Herwig, but if you like, she likes to sing everything with the same creativity and passion. This afternoon she will therefore swing happily from song to song, from Mozart to Kurt Weill and from pop to soundtracks. Music that she takes oh so seriously, by the way; it is not for nothing that she is in residence at the song academy of the Heidelberger Frühling this school year with Thomas Hampson. The second block is for a young quartet, and for Dvořák. When he composed his Piano Quartet in E flat, he was a celebrated international composer. With Roma influences, daring modulations and a prominent role for the viola, the quartet is a highlight of his chamber music.
