Voyager (late)

With his Grosse Fuge, the original conclusion of his 13th string quartet, Beethoven ran into a wall of incomprehension with his audience. 'Unplayable!' was even heard for a long time. By now we have become accustomed to the almost grotesque, monumental construction that string quartets are only too happy to sink their teeth into. Like the Alma Quartet from Amsterdam, who are just as happy to play classics like Beethoven's Opus 130 as they are to collaborate with a singer-songwriter like Nana Adjoa, a jazzman like Rembrandt Frerichs, or with New Cool Collective.
