Piano for Breakfast
A morning full of colour, movement and imagination. Pianist Nicolas van Poucke takes you into the sound world of Claude Debussy with the first eight preludes from his first book. From dancers and hazy landscapes to gusts of wind, footsteps in the snow and the famous La fille aux cheveux de lin: in each prelude, Debussy evokes a new world with just a few musical brushstrokes.
Following these eight miniatures, L’isle joyeuse brings the programme to an exuberant and virtuosic close, with music that sparkles with light, colour and joie de vivre.
Nicolas van Poucke replaces Samuel Glicklich for this concert. The programme has therefore been changed.
