Transfigured Night
The night is more than a backdrop — it is a world of its own. In Transfigured Night, the Brackman Trio takes you on a programme full of mystery, tension and transformation.
At its heart is Schönberg's Verklärte Nacht, presented here in a compelling version for piano trio. The Brackman Trio's recording of this work received international acclaim and forms the centrepiece of this concert. In this musical nocturnal journey, everything shifts: from uncertainty to reconciliation, from darkness to light.
Beethoven's Geisterstrio reveals another side of the night. The nickname arose when Beethoven's student Carl Czerny recognised the opening scene of Shakespeare's Hamlet in its slow movement: a ghost appearing in the dark. The concert opens with a Secret Scores surprise that sets the mood from the very first note.
An evening in which the night slowly unfolds — and is ultimately illuminated.
